Patch 1.17.00 is the current broad update reference, while the official issues list was revised again on August 17. Here is the short version players can actually use.

Quick answer

Crimson Desert Patch 1.17.00 is available on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox and Epic Games Store; the Mac App Store version was still listed as in progress in the official patch notes. The update focuses on fixes and stability rather than a large new feature drop. Check the separate Known Issues notice before troubleshooting FSR4 rain distortion, GTX 1060 white screens, PlayStation virtual-keyboard freezes, Mac interface problems, or quest progression with Damiane and Oongka.

What Patch 1.17.00 changes

The August 7 patch fixes incorrect progress counting for the Desperate Rescue challenge, an unintended quick-slot assignment after food is exhausted, and special headgear effects that did not activate in some situations. It also addresses overlapping footstep sounds or animation stutter while moving, plus map icons for unobtainable treasure chests and abnormal trade-route display. Those are useful quality-of-life fixes, but they are not a reason to reset a working controls or graphics profile.

Known issues still worth checking

The official Known Issues page was last updated August 17. It lists cases where interactions with NPCs, mounts or specific objects can become unavailable; restarting the game is the stated temporary workaround. It also lists immobile fish in some areas, Greymane faction quests that cannot progress while playing as Damiane or Oongka, and a Hold-evasion input conflict. On PC, the notice still calls out the GTX 1060 combination of FSR Upscaling and Frame Generation, plus FSR4 rain disappearance, blur or distortion in rainy environments.

A practical post-patch routine

  1. Confirm your platform client completed the patch, then restart it once.
  2. Load a familiar save and test movement, a quick slot, and one normal map route.
  3. Check the official Known Issues notice for your exact platform or hardware.
  4. Make a backup before changing a graphics profile, remapping every control, or moving a save through Cross-Save.

Do not confuse a current issue with a route mistake

If a quest NPC, mount or object will not interact, a full route replay is rarely the best first move. Restart, confirm your current character and journal state, and compare the symptom to the live issue list. If it is not listed, note the platform, version, character, location and the exact sequence that reproduces it. That produces a useful report and keeps your save safer than repeated trial-and-error changes.
