Crimson Desert 1.12 Update Checklist: What Players Should Check First

Written by X-Gamer on Jun 22, 2026

Quick answer

  • Update to 1.12.01 before testing the large 1.12.00 content patch; the hotfix repairs five immediate regressions.
  • Check outdoor housing, Workstations, Looms, the new manuals and Box of Fortune first because they are the easiest additions to miss.
  • Players using Damiane or Oongka should retest Visiones, memories, Blackstar access, and weapon chain attacks, while keeping the current known-issues notice nearby.

Patch 1.12 is broad enough that simply loading an old save does not show you what changed. The useful approach is to check systems in a deliberate order: confirm the hotfix, protect housing progress, collect new crafting options, then test combat and character changes.

1. Confirm the hotfix before moving furniture

Version 1.12.01 fixed outdoor furniture disappearing. Make a fresh manual save, place one inexpensive outdoor object, leave the area, and return. If it persists, continue decorating. If it vanishes, stop placing valuable or time-consuming arrangements and report the platform and save state.

2. Visit a Workstation and a Loom

Workstations appear in places such as Greymane Camp and Timberham Sawmill. Looms can be found in locations including the Hernand Tailor’s Shop. These tools support the new housing-item recipes, so discovering the station is only the first step; the corresponding manuals still need to be collected.

3. Build a manual-collection route

The 58 new housing items cover facilities, lights, decorations, pet furniture, fountains, wells, carpets, planters, automata toys, and a music box. Their manuals can come from shops, claw machines, the Flower Basket crafting mission, Box of Fortune, and Orb Roll. Check those sources as a loop instead of waiting for one vendor to stock everything.

4. Decide whether Box of Fortune fits your budget

The box costs 100 silver and is limited to three purchases per restock. Treat it as an optional manual and item source, not a mandatory drain on early funds. Buy it after essential upgrades and travel costs are covered.

5. Retest Damiane and Oongka

  • Equip Visiones and check whether the expected effects apply.
  • Read memories with each character rather than assuming the interaction remains Kliff-only.
  • Test Blackstar mounting in a safe area.
  • Try the new sliding chain attack with the weapon types you actually use.
  • Revisit any character setup you abandoned because an older patch lacked these options.

6. Check equipment and collection changes

Kliff received new headgear and Greymane Light Armor, Damiane received Honorary Greymane Cloth Gloves, and all characters can use the Greymane Signet. The patch also added 51 Collectibles – Contract knowledge entries and improved Collectibles Chest shading so owned and unowned items are easier to distinguish.

7. Retest old blockers carefully

Patch 1.12.00 includes many quest, mount, crafting, control, and performance fixes. Revisit a previously blocked objective with a manual save made first. Do not assume every current problem is solved: compare the behavior with the official Known Issues notice before rebuilding a save or reinstalling the game.

Fast post-update checklist

Check Why it matters Stop if
Outdoor test object Confirms the 1.12.01 persistence fix The object disappears again
Workstation and Loom Opens the new crafting route The storefront build is still pending
Manual sources Prevents aimless vendor refreshing Essential upgrades need the silver first
Damiane/Oongka interactions Validates new character access A known quest issue affects the current objective
Old blocked quest Tests whether the relevant fix landed No manual backup exists
