Unfamiliar Lands Objectives

  1. Head down toward the cabin.
  2. Speak with Oongka if the optional objective appears.
  3. Speak with Marius.
  4. Speak with Ross.
  5. Enter the cabin and continue the story sequence.

This section is deliberately quiet. Use it to test your movement, interaction range, camera speed, and objective markers. The Prologue does not punish exploration heavily here, but wandering too far from the cabin can make the next marker less obvious.

In Ashes Objectives

  1. Exit the cabin when the attack begins.
  2. Fight through the Black Bear soldiers.
  3. Move to Oongka when prompted.
  4. Move to Yann and the other Greymanes as the battle shifts.
  5. Respond quickly to the quick-time prompts after cinematic moments.
  6. Face Myurdin and let the story carry you into the Abyss.

Combat Notes for the Black Bears

The Black Bear soldiers in this section are not complex, but they arrive while the game is still teaching you how to read combat prompts. Keep your camera pointed toward the densest group of enemies, avoid attacking into empty space, and watch for transitions after cutscenes. A quick-time prompt can appear right as control returns.

Can You Beat Myurdin?

Myurdin is technically fightable, but the encounter is story-driven. Beating him does not appear to grant a special reward, and losing does not block progress. The important thing is learning how a larger enemy pressures Kliff: Myurdin’s swings encourage you to dodge, guard, and avoid overcommitting to long attack strings.

If you want to practice, stay mobile and punish after Myurdin finishes a committed strike. If your goal is simply to continue, do not worry about forcing a win. The Prologue is designed to move into Unknown Space either way.

Quick Tips

  • Talk to optional allies before entering the cabin if you want extra story context.
  • After every cinematic clash, be ready for a quick-time prompt.
  • Do not chase enemies away from your objective marker during the large battle.
  • Treat Myurdin as a tutorial boss, not a loot target.
