Unknown Space begins after the Greymane camp falls apart and Kliff wakes in the Abyss. This Prologue arc teaches movement, Blinding Flash, Lantern use, and the road back toward Hernand.

Realm of Uncertainty Walkthrough
- Move forward through the Corridor of the Void.
- Use the path to practice running, jumping, climbing, vaulting, and crouching.
- Stop at the sealed door with the light device above it.
- Use Blinding Flash on the device to open the door.
- Equip your Lantern from the radial menu and continue through the dark tunnel.
- Follow the route until Kliff exits the Abyss sequence.
How to Use Blinding Flash
Blinding Flash is the first utility skill that many players struggle with because the input timing is stricter than expected. The important rule is simple: enter the stance with the required inputs at the same time, aim at the light device, and hold long enough for the effect to trigger.
- Controller: use the shoulder-button prompt shown by the game to enter the stance, then aim the light at the target.
- Keyboard and mouse: press the required modifier and attack input together. If Kliff only blocks or swings, reset and press both inputs simultaneously.
- Targeting: aim at the crystal or light device above the sealed door, not the door itself.
Lantern Use in the Abyss
The dark tunnel after the Blinding Flash door is the first reminder that Crimson Desert expects you to use tools, not just follow a marker. Open the radial menu, equip the Lantern, and keep it active while moving through the low-visibility path.
Tip: If you feel lost in the tunnel, slow down and follow the brightest readable edge of the path. The Lantern is more important than sprinting here.
New Journey Walkthrough
Once Kliff escapes the Abyss, Sebastian helps him recover and guides him toward Hernand. Follow Sebastian, defeat the soldiers that interrupt the route, then mount up and ride with him. This section is mostly linear, but it sets the tone for open-world travel and early resource collection.
Rewards
- Standard Inventory Expansion Tool
- Oats x10
- Blackberry x5
- Early familiarity with Lantern, mounted travel, and Abyss traversal
Common Problems
- Blinding Flash does not trigger: press the inputs together instead of one after the other.
- The door does not open: aim at the light device above the door.
- The tunnel is too dark: equip the Lantern from the radial menu.
- Sebastian is too far ahead: stop exploring and return to the road marker.

FAQ
Where should I go after this guide?
Use the related route links above to continue through nearby main guides, quest routes, boss briefings, and build notes.
Is this guide part of Prologue?
Yes. This page is connected to the Crimson Desert guide index so players can move between chapter content without returning to the homepage.
Route Judgment
Prologue Unknown Space is worth doing when you are already moving through the Prologue. Quest routes are easiest to enjoy when they are folded into the nearby chapter flow instead of treated as a separate checklist after the story has dragged you somewhere else.
Before you start, confirm three things: the closest safe camp or settlement, the exact objective wording after the latest conversation, and whether the quest is asking you to search, fight, escort, solve, or report back. That small read of the route saves more time than riding straight at the marker.
Common Miss
The mistake I would watch for is leaving the area as soon as the main interaction is done. Many Crimson Desert quest spaces keep one more useful clue nearby: a side room, a ledge, a second NPC, a material pickup, or a changed line of dialogue after combat ends.
Clean Finish Checklist
- Return to the NPC or landmark that started the route if the objective feels unresolved.
- Check the edge of the search area before turning in the quest.
- Take nearby loot or materials while you are already there.
- Open the Quest Index again only after the current route is truly closed.
